Dudhsagar Waterfalls are one of the tallest and most beautiful waterfalls in India. Breathtaking scenery of the area makes it a perfect location for picnics, sightseeing and hiking in Goa. The waterfalls are over1000 feet (310 m) in height and the water plummets in four levels. After a sheer drop the waterfall cascades and diverges, weaving a mesmerizing image. Best time to visit the waterfalls would be during the monsoon season.
Basilica of Bom Jesus and the Tomb of St. Francis
Basilica of Bom Jesus is a UNESCO World Heritage Site located about ten kilometres off Panjim. The church is considered to be one of the best examples of baroque architecture in India. The exterior walls of Basilica are adorned with attractive relief carvings. Inside, the church is decorated with refined paintings, gilded murals and altars. The Tomb of St. Francis is located inside the Basilica and holds the mortal remains of Saint Francis Xavier, encased in a silver sarcophagus. Saint Francis Xavier was a 16th century missionary who was also one of the founders of Jesuits.
The Fort Aguada
The Fort Aguada is considered to be one of the top historical attractions in Goa. It was built in the 17th century and rests on the mouth of Mandovi River, facing the Arabian Sea.
