Grace Vanderbilt is an historic boutique hotel just a few steps from the bustling Thames Street and the delightful waterfront of Newport. Originally built by Alfred Gwynne Vanderbilt, a scion of the wealthy Vanderbilt family, the 1909 property is a vintage Newport mansion that has been restored to its former glory and is one of the few private homes of the era to operate for guests as a fully functioning, luxury hotel. Grace Vanderbilt comprises 33 elegantly appointed rooms and suites, a sumptuous spa and fitness centre and indoor and outdoor swimming pools. Two gourmet restaurants are available: Muse by Jonathan Cartwright, a fine dining restaurant where the best local ingredients are incorporated into imaginative, seasonal menus, and the Conservatory, which offers lighter meals in more informal surroundings with views to the gardens and pool. Grace Vanderbilt combines unmatched heritage with a modern service ethos that has won Grace Hotels global critical acclaim and numerous hospitality awards, often cited as best-in-class.
